Suite Dreams At St Ermin’s

This weekend I had a wonderful stay at the St Ermin’s Hotel in St James’, courtesy of Your London Wedding Magazine…

Last year I was the very proud winner of ‘Wedding of the Year’ with the mag (for my own wedding), and the prize was a two-night stay in a suite at St Ermin’s Hotel, including breakfast and afternoon tea for two.

I had previously only visited St Ermin’s as a foodie, as their restaurant used to be headed up by Adam Handling, fellow Scot and former Masterchef finalist, so I was well aware of the venue in the London restaurant scene as well as on the London wedding scene… but never have I ever stayed in a suite (besides on my honeymoon, which doesn’t count) never mind one in the city where I actually live!

It was a rare treat, so, we took the opportunity for a little pick me up in January. Both my husband and I have such busy, and often conflicting, schedules it seemed the perfect month to have some quality time together, after the madness of wedding season and Christmas party season for me (working not attending!).

The suite was bigger than our actual flat in East London, we had his and hers sinks (perfect!) and a wonderful shower room with a free-standing bath. It was luxuriously comfortable, in just the right proportions, complete with a king size bed!

We had our own in-room coffee machine, and even White Company toiletries as complimentary!

Add to all of that, that the staff were wonderful and so friendly. There was never a question asked about the prize or proof, everything was pre-prepared for us, and we never had to ask twice.

We were lucky enough to have a relaxing Sunday sipping afternoon tea, too!

Surrounding Area

Just a few minutes’ walk from Buckingham Palace, 5 mins walk from Big Ben, and 15 mins walk in Soho, there are so many great photo opportunities in the surrounding area; to have your wedding photos done in St James’ park would be a dream! We went into Soho on Saturday night and then had a trip to Piccadilly and Regent Street shopping on Sunday before our afternoon tea.

I actually didn’t even get the chance to check out the wedding facilities (we were having too much fun), but this hotel is a little hidden gem in historical St James’s, and the prices seem quite reasonable too.

We certainly had suite dreams at St Ermin’s – this, as the wedding suite, would make for the perfect wedding night.
