After visiting The Wedding Gallery during the Press Preview late last year when it first opened, I was struck by how well curated and well planned it was. Dubbed as ‘the UK’s first wedding department store’, it really is a one-stop shop for all your wedding needs… And with an in-house cafe and totally Instagramable bubble bar to boot, wedding shopping in central London has never been so easy!
Following on from my ‘lowdown’ post from when it first opened (read it here), I’ve collated my favourite brands in this top picks post, because there was just too many pretty things I wanted to show you!
Lamplighter London
I LOVE Lamplighter’s modern calligraphy. Lamplighter London is a decorative lettering studio based in East London. They focus on bespoke, unique and beautiful stationery for special occasions. Lamplighter specialises in combining hand-drawn elements with strong graphic design, as well as producing high-quality finishes. They believe in working closely with the couple to maximise creative collaboration – amazing. The founder, Chiara, is an illustrator by trade and a self-taught modern calligrapher. She specialises in minimal and whimsical styles to suit any wedding or any other special occasion you might be planning.
Elmo Paperstories
Elmo have a real passion for using traditional materials combined with skilled craftsmanship to bring beautifully designed wedding stationery to life. They have sourced the globe to bring the most luxurious bookbinding materials to modern brides in the UK. Expect to see deep soft velvet, embossed linen and beautiful foiled metallic papers in their collections.
Their main collection features beautifully bound hardback notebooks, perfect for any bride who needs to stay organised, as well as personalised journals which make wonderful gifts. Each book in the collection is available in pretty pastel toned linen or super soft silk velvet. Elmo Paperstories also offer personalised design packages to bring you a complete wedding stationery set; from save the dates to menu cards. Each design is perfectly thought through to suit your style, and there is a range of various sets to choose from depending on your budget. I can tell you these also feel glorious to touch. I couldn’t stop touching them all when I was at the Press Preview!
Halfpenny London
Kate Halfpenny loves to design bridal gowns for real woman. Kate understands that modern women need to look their best and express their personalities on their big day. Each Halfpenny bridal piece is designed to understand how women’s bodies look, but they also celebrate individual beauty and lifestyles. Kate blends British cool with vintage inspiration to create truly stunning, modern wedding dresses and bridal wear. Halfpenny brings creativity, intelligence and versatility to all of her collections, to produce truly stunning modern gowns that will work for every woman. All of the halfpenny London gowns feature vintage styling in beautiful satin and silk finishes, many of which feature floral embroidery and interesting textures. Her designs are even more stunning in real life.
Wild at Heart
Nikki Tibbles of Wild at Heart has an international reputation for creating the most beautiful floral displays imaginable. Her ‘Wild at Heart’ displays take you on a journey and you’re bound to feel completely inspired whilst looking at her floral arrangements. I know I was!
Wild at Heart specialises in jaw-dropping centrepieces and statement installations, with a focus on romance and texture. The team create wedding flowers that look like they have stepped straight out of a fairy tale; romantic and creative, they pride themselves on using the most beautiful seasonal flowers available. If you pay a visit to The Wedding Gallery, you’ll find it hard to miss the Nikki Tibbles Wild at Heart display. A beautiful wisteria tree takes centre stage and a generous table runner made from beautiful silk flowers lays on the dark but dreamy tablescape.
Emmy London
Emmy London has a very loyal following and over the past decade has become a recognised luxury brand focusing on bridal and occasion shoes. Emmy specialises in beautiful design and quality craftsmanship with a quintessentially British style. (Emmy has it in her blood actually, since her great-great grandfather founded Harrods!)
Attention to detail is at the heart of her designs, and each shoe features a hidden diamond in the sole for that extra magical touch. Emmy produces a mix of classic court shoes as well as heels that feature vintage touches, many of which look like they could have decorated the feet of starlets in the 1920s.
Rosalind Miller
Rosalind Miller began her baking career with a stall in Greenwich Market. After her cupcakes were a huge hit, she decided to set up her own events catering company, specialising in creating beautiful cakes. Rosalind has made many beautiful creations including a giant human size gingerbread house, towering 10m high wedding cakes, and even a 15m wide dessert table for the Royal Family! Amazing!
With a combination of design and expertly made delicate sugar craft, all of Rosalind Miller’s cakes are absolutely stunning. Many of her cakes feature muted or pastel toned towers of cakes with beautifully crafted sugar paste flowers that look almost too good to eat, certainly too delicate to eat anyway! Expect to find a twist on the traditional with all Rosalind Miller cakes, but her signature colours and designs are just perfect for weddings.
Bubblegum Balloons
If you need balloons for your wedding (or your next party!), Bubblegum Balloons are one of my favs. Featuring an impressively huge range of products to make your day super special, anything from “will you be my bridesmaid?” balloons, to confetti-filled balloons, these gorgeous tulle covered balloons, and everything else in between. Bubblegum offer an impressive selection of styling products to add an extra pop of colour to your big day, too.
In particular, I love their oversized balloons complete with a pretty tassel garlands, the perfect thing to decorate your wedding venue or to have floating down the aisle. If you’d like things more personalised, Bubblegum also offer products in a range of metallic finishes in all the letters of the alphabet.
So that was a few of my top picks from The Wedding Gallery, I hope you enjoyed looking at all the pretty pieces as much as I did! I loved looking around the beautiful displays; the store is definitely worth a visit, even just for some inspo.
