Bridesmaid High Street Edit

Bridesmaid dress shopping can be one of the most fun elements of your wedding planning experience but can potentially be one of the most difficult. On one hand you get to spend a day with your girls trying on lots of beautiful dresses, having some lunch and a glass of prosecco… But you also have to contend with different body shapes, colours to compliment skin tones and ultimately a budget. Luckily there are some amazing options out there on the high street, with a good range of style options, colour choices and they won’t break the bank!

We’ve picked out some of our favourite high street dresses that focus on some of this seasons key trends, including lots of embellishment and colours to complement this years Pantone colour choice; Ultra Violet. Our top tips when looking at the high street for bridesmaid dresses is don’t always go straight to the bridal sections on websites, keep your options open and be open to having multiple styles in complimenting colours.

ASOS

Asos was our first go to for bridesmaid dresses. They launched their bridal range in 2016 and have continued to wow us with their own brand bridal selection as well as their vast range of multi brand occasion dresses that are perfect for bridesmaid dresses – and most also come in their plus, tall and petite ranges.

£75 ASOS Lace Midi Prom Dress

First up is this Asos Lace Cami dress, a prom style midi suits most body types as it nips in perfectly at the smallest part of the waist and the midi length will suit your bridesmaids no matter how tall or short they are.

£90 Maya Maxi Dress

This dress from Maya, exclusive to Asos, mixes beautiful delicate sequined embellishment with soft tulles that are perfect for complimenting many of this seasons top trends. It also comes in a short style, v neck with capped sleeves or a tiered skirt so you can be sure there is a style to suit all of your bridesmaids whilst still keeping to the same dress. I actually love that this is a bit more covered up than most other occasion dresses I’ve spotted recently – perfect for a winter wedding (or Scottish wedding!).

Chi Chi London

Chi Chi London specialise in occasion dresses for bridesmaids, proms and cocktail events, so it’s the perfect place to look for on trend dresses. Most dresses also come in their curve range as well as maternity, tall and petite, plus they even have a girls range so some dresses are available for your younger bridesmaids too!

£72 Chi Chi Alaere Dress

Alaere features a elegant embroidered bodice with loose chiffon skirt. Available in a gorgeous pale blue as well as navy ensures this dress is perfect for spring/summer as well as autumn/winter.

£70 Chi Chi Liviah Dress

Liviah is the perfect dress for a sassy but chic vintage inspired wedding, not only does it come in 11 (!) different colour varieties, it’s also available in larger size options as well as the girls range. We particularly loved the mink colour featured here and would go well not only with the ultra violet trends, but could also be paired with some bright accessories and bouquets for that bold, colourful summer wedding.

Monsoon

Monsoon have always been a go to high street store for occasion dresses, they have a great selection of colours and styles suitable for every member of your bridal party. Out of our high street picks from Monsoon were the most expensive, but with such elegant fabric choices and attention to detail it’s understandable.

£169 Angelina Maxi Dress

We totally fell in love with this dress! Not only is it hand-embellished throughout, it has gorgeous layers of tulle and a delicate hidden neck line it’s also the perfect shape to suit everyone; with a cinched waist and floaty sleeves this dress will make your bridal party feel a million dollars. Its perfect for a modern vintage wedding that compliments this seasons geometric trend too. Very Jenny Packham-esque.

We’d also recommend checking out other stores while bridesmaid dress shopping such as Debenhams, John Lewis and House of Fraser who always have a huge selection of dresses available with most collections launching in spring time. Remember, as we said at the beginning of the post, keep your options open and you may find your favourite dresses where you least expect it!
