Last night I was invited to ‘tea and a show’ at The Ritz hosted by Jenny Packham to unveil her new 2019 bridal collection. A selected few in the industry were especially invited for a champagne afternoon tea in a private room in one of the most glamourous hotels in London to view, arguably, the new collection of the most glamourous bridalwear in London.
There must have only been about 30 of us there, the usual suspects from all of the big blogs, Love My Dress, Rock My Wedding, Nu Bride, etc, and some other members of the wedding press, for a very private first viewing of Jenny’s new collection for London Bridal Week. It was magical!
About The 2019 Collection
Jenny was inspired by a quote by F.S. Fitzgerald for her new collection,
“Men and girls came and went
Like moths among the whisperings
And the champagne and the stars”
This was luxuriously embossed on a gorgeous piece of stationery by Leeming Brothers at our place settings, followed by,
“The Jenny Packham 2019 Collection is inspired by a glamourous, twilight society, their heady abandon and insouciant elegance fuelled by the hazy romance of a balmy summer’s evening.”
The afternoon tea was delicious, and the champagne such a treat. Then the show was everything.
I was struck by how diverse the collection was, not necessarily following the same rules or theme traditionally seen in bridalwear, and using many different tones and a few colours, not necessarily in the same palette. When Jenny personally came around to thank guests afterwards, she explained that she had such different demands and trends from her clients in other markets outside the UK she wanted to create something for everyone – and that she did.
So here it is…
