When it comes to shoes, Charlotte Mills is your fairy godmother. Specialising in fashion forward bridal shoes, her designs are beautiful and romantic with a touch of whimsy. So whether you’re after the perfect white shoe to compliment your dress, something with a bit of glitter, or even a touch of colour, Charlotte has you covered.
The new 2018 bridal collection is no exception; with lots of fun new designs and featuring some new closed toe block heels, beautiful crushed pearl, an extra pop of blue, and a very special welcome addition of the new Meghan shoe.
As you would expect, each pair comes with Charlotte’s signature Lucky Six Pence and the old “something borrowed, something blue…” rhyme embossed on the soles. Charlotte explains on her website:
“All bases of this old rhyme are covered with each pair of Charlotte Mills Shoes:
Something Old: the Sixpence
Something New: the new pair of shoes
Something Blue: details on the insock
Something Borrowed: a envelope which you send back after your wedding day with a picture of you wearing your shoes”
If you take a look through the new look book, or better still the website itself, you’ll find it a very hard task to pick just one favourite – but don’t worry, I’ve handpicked a few of my favourites to help you out!
The Meghan
Considering the much awaited ‘wedding of the year’ and our latest royal addition, it seemed only right we started with the Meghan shoe! These are a limited edition so I’d get in quick if I were you, as these are guaranteed to be a sell out. Made of beautiful pearl ivory leather with matching glitter (fit for a princess!) and a delicate ankle strap that creates a heart design on the back of the shoe, these are not only timelessly elegant but with a block heel are also very practical if you’re not a fan of a stiletto heel. And if they weren’t already special enough, each pair has a sixpence that was created especially for 2018, the year of the Royal wedding, in collaboration with the Royal Mint.
…And they’re not too dissimilar to the ones Meghan wore on Saturday, either!
Blossom Pearl
Blossom Pearl are perfect for those of us who aren’t as comfortable wearing heels but want something that still makes a statement. Perhaps you’re having a summer wedding or boho beach wedding somewhere warm, in whichcase these would compliment your vibe effortlessly. These would also be easy to swap into for your evening reception so you can dance the night away. These are very much sandals and the wrap around ankle tie will ensure you feel comfortable and in control all day, and glitter heart inlays are always welcome in my opinion!
Esmeralda
If you’re sticking with the tradition of “Something Old, Something New…” then Esmeralda is the perfect something blue, in the softest powder blue shade. With a low block heel that is just right, an ankle strap and metallic blue heart detailing across the front strap, these look not only super comfortable but are fashion forward and fun too!
George
And finally there’s George, I obviously had to include something with a lot of sparkle and George does just that. These are the perfect evening shoe, guaranteed to sparkle across the dancefloor all night long, but also not too bridal so you can be sure to wear these again and again. I love the attention to detail with the silver piping around the front, too.
As we said at the beginning, if you’re a fashion forward bride then these are the shoes for you!
