Cardiff hen do?  We’ve got you covered!  Wales’ capital is an absolute gem of a city, and a real thumbs up for a fun-loving, cool, city break for a hen do. First built as a Roman fort on the River Taff, Cardiff has flourished to be a destination city for culture, art and creativity.

Our UK cities offer themselves as amazing destinations for a super fun and memorable hen do, and Cardiff is certainly no exception. It’s a small city by UK standards (ranked 11th by size in the UK) but perfectly formed, and just the right size for a city break escape. The city centre is a thriving hub for fun and giggles, and Cardiff Bay has become one of the city’s trendiest hotspots for a cocktail with a view.

So, put down your passport and venture over to Wales’ bars, spas and party streets to have one last hurrah with your hens! With so much to do and so much to see, you will need a couple of nights with your girls to fully explore the city and make the most of its perfect Welsh charm.

The Bay

Cardiff Bay is a beautiful highlight of Wales’ vibrant capital city. There are many ways to explore the bay’s coastline on the water; if your hens are more of an adventurous bunch, you could book the super speedy jet boat at Cardiff Sea Safaris which will take you on a 15 minute ‘Bay Blast’! Or, if you and your hens want to relax lazily on the waves with a prosecco in hand, with music playing and cocktails flowing, then Cardiff Cruises will be able to offer you a more luxurious ride.

The Spas

St. David’s Hotel and Spa

As an alternative, this is a gorgeous little place to book an afternoon tea for you and your girls. It’s cutesy, traditional and has the best range of teas in town!

This bar is super sophisticated and offers the most amazing and delicious concoctions. Mixology is really at its best when it comes to the delightfulness of The Alchemist’s drinks, and the potions are perfect for setting the scene for your hen-night. Classy, scrummy and a fantastic place to eat too if you are looking for a super cool dinner venue to kick off your weekend.

BE AT ONE

Yes, it’s a chain bar, and yes you probably went to one in your home city when you were at uni for the cheap drinks, but BE AT ONE in Cardiff is full of fun and they’ve smartened up their image somewhat recently (certainly since I was at uni!). This bar is the perfect place for you and your gals to really let your hair down! The cocktails, the music and the fun-loving party vibe is a winning combination for any hen night! Booking ahead is definitely advisable as this place is pretty small, however this really adds to the party den ambiance of the venue. This is one of the best places in the city to dance the night away.

Aside from all that, Cardiff also has a fantastic castle, captivating street art (one of the most famous murals was created to raise awareness of homelessness), and a flourishing food and drink scene…
