I’m sure you’ve been to many weddings and experienced a variety of Guest Book styles. The only thing is, that sometimes, the party is far too fun to remember to sign that all important book for the Bride and Groom! Prosecco, lovely food, wine, dancing, shots, and then usuallly more prosecco… Sometimes a visit to the Guest Book table falls off the agenda! I know this all too well, because I see it first hand all the time – but sadly, I’ve also been guilty of this… (ooops!).
One of my photographer friends, Lex of Fleming Photo, inspired me to write this post after sharing these photos with me (below). Her couple (she was the photographer at this wedding) put a mini guest book on each dinner table, which allowed guests lots of time over dinner to sign and seal it with a heartfelt message. I thought this was genius, as it’s so hard to get guests to sign a guest book sometimes…! (Especially if it’s more of a traditional paper version as opposed to a polaroid guest book or something a little like that).
It’s often my job, as the planner and coordinator on the day, to remind guests that a guest book is there, and to remind them where, and even just finding a relevant and appropriate moment to tell guests this is sometimes a struggle, never mind getting them to actually sign it! And don’t get me wrong, it’s not that guests don’t want to, it’s just that they don’t want to stop drinking/chatting/dancing to go and do it at a separate table!
So, if having a hand-written memento from your nearest and dearest is super important to you, we suggest this genius idea of putting it right in front of your guests at your wedding breakfast, so they can’t miss it!
These ones below also double up as table names – which is doubly awesome! Functional, effective, and super cool to boot! I adore this idea.

If you’re creative (and have the time), you could even go one step further but creating some sort of game or quiz or drinking challenge inside of each guest book, to get it going and get everyone at the table chatting.
Other Quirky Guest Book Ideas…
Photo Guest Books
There are lots of other great ideas to create a cool, quirky and unusual Guest Book, but photo guest books are super popular right now too and also super fun. From a polaroid table, to a wedding photo booth, to a guest photograph washing line… The list is endless!

But, the question of ‘how do I get guests to actually sign our guest book’ may still crop up with these ideas too. Having something placed on the dinner tables is the most efficient yet relaxed way to ensure you get that special message from your guests, in my opinion.
