Jenny Packham 2020 Bridal Collection – A Tale of Three Cities

Hot off the press!  These photos were literally only released hours ago! You may have seen on my Instagram stories this week that I was invited to the Jenny Packham 2020 collection launch on Sunday evening for London Bridal Fashion week. I adore Jenny Packham gowns, so I was delighted to attend! It was a lovely evening; gorgeous gowns while enjoying champagne and canapes at a private viewing at the Jenny Packham store on Mount Street in Mayfair – I felt very privileged! It was the very first time the collection had been revealed and we got to sift through it all, touch it all, take photos of it all, enjoy it all! Whilst mingling with the press, bloggers, and other babes from the bridal world, each piece was modelled one by one for us to see it imagined in real life.

A Tale of Three Cities

The 2020 bridal collection, in Jenny’s own words:

The Jenny Packham bride is international, elegant and informed. Her style cannot be singularly defined; her influences are diverse.

Inspired by Her, the 2020 Collection comprises a group of gowns, capturing the spirit of some of the world’s most romantic destinations; Paris, Buenos Aires and New York. A tale of three cities collectively encapsulating a feminine and distinctly modern beauty.

‘La Ville-Lumière’, the city of light and love, Paris is renowned for its fin-de-siècle grace and its haute couture heritage. Inspired by this sentiment, draped chiffon, finely pleated tulle, delicately embroidered organza and volumous skirts are softly romantic for an ethereal bride.

Vibrant, passionate and beautiful, Buenos Aires is synonymous with a Latino love of carnival and dance. In homage to the sensuality and soul of the city, these silhouettes celebrate the female form with bias cut crepes, intricate embellishment, fishtail skirts and plunging necklines.

‘The city that never sleeps’, New York is an icon of high octane glamour. Inspired by Upper East side elegance and the hedonism of downtown Manhattan are high-low hemlines, crystal encrusted mini dresses and ostrich feather trims. These are sophisticated dresses for a sensational party.

The Collection

So here it is, for your eyes only, the new 2020 collection, hot off the press!  (These photos were literally only released hours ago!)

These are my favs…

How wonderful! I’ve been to all three cities, and I absolutely love the mix! Buenos Aires seems an unlikely partner in the trio of cities as the inspo for this collection, but it works so beautifully! Such bright, light, cosmopolitan but diverse cities across the globe. Just like the Jenny Packham bride. And I think that says it all. Jenny Packham has been worn by one of my brides for a pretty Chiswick marquee wedding, but also by another for an edgy urban wedding in an industrial metal works. So the Jenny Packham style is very much led by the bride, and not the style of the wedding.
