A summer ceremony at The Asylum, Peckham, and then 100 Barrington in Brixton afterwards for the reception. ..and in between times, the couple snuck round the corner to a tiny bar where they had their first date to toast their marriage! Such a lovely idea when they had perfectly located venues to enable them to do so for this South London city wedding…
The real-weddings-roll-out continues! As I continue to catch up and show you all my stunning weddings that never quite made it on to the blog for various reasons over the last few years!
This was one of the first weddings to happen post pandemic at 100 Barrington (summer 2021), and it was extra exciting because the venue had gone through a bit of a refurb and reno during that time as well. Their main space was extended under their arches, they acquired the arch next door, which means they now have a separate catering space and additional loos, and they commissioned a gorgeous glass canopy to connect the two spaces, so now have an additional festoon lit courtyard as well. Meaning heaps more space overall and lots of hosting options for weddings. The glass canopy was the only thing that was incomplete at this time, but as it was a summer wedding this didn’t make a difference and we still benefited from the twinkling and intimate courtyard. Which is such a welcome space at 100 Barrington, away from the busy and bustling roads of Brixton outside!
There were lots of cocktails, a few nods to Harry Potter, additional vows before dinner, and gorgeous tableware to add a softness to the industrial aesthetics of 100 Barrington. Then the couple danced the night away under a neon ‘Better Together’ sign with a grazing table that kept them going until the end. It was the perfect South London city wedding.

“Working with Laura was an absolute dream from start to finish. We knew from the moment we met Laura that we were in great hands and that this was the best decision we’d made when planning our wedding.
We had two dry hire venues, and multiple suppliers, and so it felt like a lot and like we’d bitten more off than we could chew, but with Laura’s support it all went off without a hitch.
We had the on the day service, but feel like Laura offers so much more than that, we felt supported the entire way through, and most of that was through Covid when Laura and the rest of the wedding industry was in such a scary place. She was always there for us and always so positive and helpful. But she was also consultative and always had great suggestions on how we could make the day work better.
And on the day, my goodness, everything ran so smoothly, and everything was set up to perfection… Laura even made sure we had a drink in our hands at all times!
Laura, thank you so much for being so wonderful, we are so grateful for everything.
Lots of love the Lloyd-Gaughan’s”
