A classy Christmas wedding (with a Jäger bar!) at the Love Actually chapel and One Belgravia, London.
Now the weather has most definitely turned to autumn, I wanted to share this beautiful and cosy Christmas wedding from last December.
I’d worked with Caroline and Greg for nearly two years to help them create their day and it was such a joy getting to know them!
Caroline loves Christmas, so her dream wedding was focused around everything festive! The couple already had their venues in places when they hired me, but needed a hand with the planning and getting everything right for their dry hire reception venue – as well as pulling together a hire and décor plan.
Their ceremony venue was the stunning Grosvenor Chapel in Mayfair – the actual Love Actually chapel! It was just perfect! And such an ornate chapel right in the middle of central London; very photogenic, I’m sure you’ll agree. Then came the hard work with planning and coordinating the reception venue, and everything else. We worked weekly on everything from stationery to cheese, and from bridesmaid’s dresses to booking the band. As well as all the usual logistical planning and timings for their day. Having worked with them for so long, we were able to get every detail just as they wanted – no matter how big or small.
The reception venue is dry hire, however you are contracted to use the One Events dining team. So the catering was somewhat fixed, but we had flexibility to tweak the package, and also bring in certain items to personalise the couple’s day. Christmas tress and live music was a must for the couple to create a cosy Christmas vibe, and we topped this off with cascading Christmas wreaths on the staircase and all the fireplaces. We then had a Jäger bar open after cocktail hour (which lasted all of an hour until we ran out of Jäger – and there was A LOT!), and Cornish pasties for evening food inspired by Caroline’s heritage.
The first dance was a big reveal for the dancefloor, with lots of mood lighting, confetti cannons, and a smoke machine to get the dancefloor going. The couple danced their first and last dance to ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ – and barely left the dancefloor all night! It was such a joy to be part of and, thanks to Caroline’s creative eye and musical insight, it was a cracker of a wedding and quite the party! Ending my 2018 of weddings on a complete high

“Laura is an absolute dream! She was the best decision we made for our whole wedding Being a London dry hire venue we needed full support for wedding planning and Laura was everything we could have wished for. No job was too large or too small and we felt we developed a real friend we could rely on completely to sort our wedding. She took a huge amount of pressure off us both before the day and on the day. Everyone and everything was in the right place at the right time thanks to her. We are just sad it’s all over!”
