A thoroughly modern wedding in a converted church featuring lots of pretty greenery at dry hire venue Dilston Grove, Southwark.
Sinead + Jack were married at Dilston Grove, London; a cool dry hire venue in Southwark Park, and a venue I’m getting very accustomed to working at, I love it! They had the normal traditional festivities, including the ceremony, at Dilston Grove, then went on to Peckham Liberal Club for the after-party.
Sinead + Jack walked down the aisle together and had a lovely personal ceremony with lots of friends and family involved reading and singing. The grounds at Dilston Grove offer lots of cool photo opportunities, then it was onto dinner and speeches followed by a brass band in the evening before they headed off to Peckham Liberal Club for the afterparty.
As with all dry hire weddings, there were lots of elements and suppliers to pull together, and there are quite a few restrictions at the venue, but team Devine Bride helped the couple ensure the day went off without a hitch. We assisted in the final planning process, the day before for set up and decor, and were present on the day for hosting and coordination, and also transferred all the flowers and some decor over to the after-party venue at Peckham Liberal Club.

“It’s hard to explain how extraordinarily wonderful Laura is, and my husband Jack and I could not recommend her highly enough! We haphazardly planned our wedding in just a few months, and soon realised we would need some on-the-day help. Technically this is what we asked Laura to assist with, but in reality she provided so much more than that.
Laura was instrumental in helping us realise our ambitious plans in a difficult, dry hire venue on a tight budget and in a demandingly short timeframe. Even on the first day we met Laura for a chat over breakfast, she gave us loads of brilliant ideas which we incorporated into our day. In the lead up to the wedding, Laura provided fantastic support and produced a detailed plan / timetable for the wedding.
Laura also coordinated the set-up at the venue the day before, and made what could have been a stressful experience run like clockwork. It was such a blessing having someone there who somehow made a few hours of hard work feel like great fun. Laura helped make the jobs we were dreading doing before the wedding (eg ferrying cutlery, plates and chairs to the venue, stringing up fairy lights and organising the caterers and florist) a wonderful experience. She soon felt like one of the family and we really treasure the day as one of the best memories of the wedding run-up.
Laura’s help on the wedding day itself was invaluable. She helped make both Jack and me (and our families and friends) feel so at ease. We didn’t need to think about anything except enjoying ourselves.
We didn’t have any bridesmaids or groomsmen and were really keen that none of our family or the other the guests had any responsibilities other than having fun. So everything fell to Laura, and everything was perfect.
The whole day ran smoothly and precisely to the timetable we had discussed. Even things we had never considered, Laura had thought of and had covered. For example, I’d abandon my bouquet in a corner and then minutes later see it presented beautifully in a vase; it was a weirdly cold day and Laura made sure the guests who were cold had blankets and everything they needed. She also went above and beyond by moving flowers from the reception venue to (and also making the finishing touches to) the “after party” at another location.
Laura was so fundamental to the whole process. It’s so difficult to make a wedding relaxed, but it’s precisely what Laura did for us. Laura made us feel like our months of planning and expenditure was worth it and that the final product was in a safe pair of hands. Everything went smoothly and the day was perfect.
I could go on forever about how wonderful Laura is! We are so grateful for her brilliant work and honestly don’t know how we would have done it without her. The whole process of working with her was a joy. Thank you so much Laura!!! Xxx”
