An elegant animal themed wedding, with a giraffe meet and greet, at Port Lympne Safari Park.

Steph and Andy are an animal and travel loving couple and wanted to have a fun wedding that combined both of those things! They settled on Port Lympne because they are a charity and any money spent with them goes back into caring for the animals; run by the Aspinall Foundation, a ‘renowned animal conservation charity dedicated to protecting animals around the world’. What’s more, you and all your guests get to go on safari around the park and meet the animals as part of your wedding day! How cool is that?! Talk about entertaining their guests…! It worked out SO WELL and we had a great sunny and warm August day for it too!

After an gorgeous lunch in the venue’s atria, the couple were whisked off for their own private experience with the giraffes, before all the guests were taken on safari a little later, approx 5-6pm. It was the perfect interlude and such an amazing experience for the guests. The rest of the day was a bit like a festival – which is how Steph wanted it to be, with a bit of a complementing side note of an animal themed wedding! A relaxed affair with lots of fun, and lots of different things going on that guests could float between. We had a flower crown making station, a photo booth, a cocktail van and a pizza van, before swing dancing and a chocolate smash instead of a traditional cutting of the cake…! It was loads of fun, and the venue provided the perfect setting to bring all of it together.

“We booked Laura as the on the day coordinator for our wedding and she was amazing! From the first moment we met her we knew we were in good hands and didn’t need to worry. From the month before the wedding she was communicating with all our suppliers and taking care of all the little details, which really saved us time, and put together the most meticulous pack for them all. On the day she was great, super organised and everything went really well (I’m sure things went wrong but luckily we didn’t know anything about it!). She also took sooo many pictures and videos which was really appreciated, and without her I don’t think my husband or I would have eaten or drank all day. We weren’t sure if we needed a seperate coordinator as we had a hosted venue, but I’m so glad we had someone advocating for us as a couple and it was so nice our wedding party not having to organise anything either and they could just enjoy the day. I’d 100% recommend it for anyone thinking about it and Laura is the absolute best of the best! Thanks so much.”
